The Code Enforcement Unit aims to gain compliance with the Estes Park Municipal Code through education and enforcement. The Code Enforcement Unit responds to citizen reports of code violations, as well as proactively searches for opportunities to educate the public.

The position of Community Service Officer is a full-time paid seasonal internship offered from mid May through mid August. Duties consist of performing foot patrols downtown, assisting citizens and visitors, parking enforcement, traffic control and pedestrian safety, special events and parades, and assisting police, fire and ambulance services. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in a career in Law Enforcement, but not required.

Emergency Services Dispatchers work in the Estes Park Emergency Communications Center (EPECC) which is an Enhanced 911 center that services the entire Estes Valley for Police, Fire and Medical emergencies and non-emergencies. Dispatchers receive specialized training in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), receive and transmit all radio traffic to emergency services and maintains contact with emergency services through Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).

Police Auxiliary

The Estes Park Police Auxiliary is an all volunteer unit of extremely dedicated and friendly community members that provide invaluable assistance to the Police Department and the Estes Park community. Auxiliary members are a common sight inside the Police Department and out in the community as they assist with front desk management, conduct traffic control, act as a security presence at special events or large incidents, run the yearly Blue Santa program, and much more. Front Desk

Front Desk volunteers have the opportunity to help their community and Police by working at the front window of the Police Department. Volunteers run the front desk Monday to Friday from 8a.m - 5p.m. and interact with residents, visitors and police employees on a regular basis. Duties include providing information, forms and applications to residents and visitors who come to the window and collecting basic information from people wishing to speak to an officer or report a crime. Restorative Justice

Restorative Justice circle leaders, community mediators, facilitators, and volunteers play a vital role in the Restorative Justice program. Volunteering with Restorative Justice gives community members an opportunity not only to assist in solving community problems but also to makes a positive impact on people's lives.
