Congressman Neguse's Wildfire Summit

The Board of Trustees may be attending Congressman Neguse’s First Annual Wildfire Summit on February 18 from 12pm - 6pm MT. 
The Wildfire Summit will bring together leaders from every level of government, fire chiefs, forest managers, scientists, disaster response teams, and many more experts. Together we will seek comprehensive solutions to the growing threat of wildfire in Colorado.

The first hour of the Summit is open to the public and will include a panel discussion and a Q & A with Colorado's highest ranking elected officials.

The panelists for the 12pm - 1pm panel are:

Congressman Joe Neguse 
Governor Jared Polis 
Senator Michael Bennett 
Senator John Hickenlooper

The remainder of the Summit will consist of five invite-only, in-depth panel discussions (these are NOT open to the public or press). The goal of these discussions is to share expertise on the issue at hand and to seek actionable solutions. Panelists for the Wildfire Summit include distinguished professionals from our National Forests, Colorado State Fire Chiefs, the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention, the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, numerous federal labs, and the Colorado Forest Restoration Institute at Colorado State University.

2pm - 3pm: Panel Two, The Science of Wildfires 
3pm - 4pm: Panel Three, Watershed Impacts and Flood Mitigation 
4pm - 5pm: Panel Four, Disaster Recovery 
5pm - 6pm: Panel Five, Strengthening Workforce & Fire Services
