Prospect Mountain Water Project

#FFFFFF

The Town of Estes Park entered into an agreement to provide new water service to the former Prospect Mountain Water Company service area including new distribution piping and fire hydrants. The project is initially funded through a combination of grants and low-interest rate loans from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA-RD). Benefited property owners are obligated to repay the low-interest rate loan portion of the funding over a 40-year period.

Reclamation Neighborhood Water Project

#FFFFFF

The Water Division is looking forward to advancing with the next phase of the mainline replacement project in the Reclamation Neighborhood. This phase will replace the existing four-inch steel mainline with a new eight-inch ductile iron pipe and replace existing fire hydrants. Street and sidewalk improvements will also take place on Third Street, North Court, and South Court.

Final Design is being completed for the Reclamation Neighborhood Water Improvement project and the project will go out for bid by a general contractor in early 2024. Construction will take place in 2024. As contractors prepare estimates, residents may notice some activity in the project area; however, construction work will not begin without advance notification to residents.

New water mains will be installed on First Street, Second Street, Third Street, North Court, South Court, and North Saint Vrain. Once main lines are installed, services will be moved from the old to the new water lines. To move your service over, the contractor will need to tie into the existing service lines but will need approval to access your property to make the connection. We are requesting all property owners complete this form allowing contractor access.

Project updates and schedules will be posted on this page. For more information on this project, please contact Jacqui Wesley, Utilities Project Manager at 970-577-3611 or jwesley@estes.org

Carriage Hills Neighborhood Project

#FFFFFF

The Water Division has started the design for improvements in the Carriage Hills area. These improvements will replace some of the older water lines that are subject to leaking and breaking. As part of the project, we will install new fire hydrants and make changes that will improve the overall operations and stabilize the pressure in the Carriage Hills area. We anticipate completing the design in 2024 and starting construction in 2025. Mall Road Looping Project

#FFFFFF

The Water Division has started pre-design activities for water system improvements along the Mall Road corridor. These improvements will complete an important distribution system loop that connects our water system from Joel Estes Drive to Highway 34. This looping project was identified in the previous master plan as important to help water quality and stabilize system pressure in the northeastern portion of our service area.

The pre-design phase includes identifying and evaluating potential pipeline routes, completing preliminary fieldwork, and identifying permitting requirements and timelines. We anticipate completing pre-design during the summer of 2024. Final design and permitting are expected to be completed by early 2025, with construction starting in 2025 or 2026.
