The Estes Park Museum Collections Volunteer is responsible for assisting the Curator of Collections on various projects. Works with direct supervision from the Curator, volunteers help to make the collections accessible to the public. This volunteer position offers the opportunity to work directly with the artifacts comprising Estes Park’s unique history.
Responsibilities & Activities
- Digitizes historic photographs and materials
- Photographs artifacts
- Updates catalog records in the collection database
- Cleans, inventories, and rehouses artifacts
- Assists with accessioning new donations
- Researches materials for requests, programs, and exhibits
- Monitors collections materials and environments, alerting the Curator to any potential issues
The Estes Park Museum Gallery Host welcomes and interacts with thousands of guests from all over the world and serves as the front-line representative leading to a successful experience in the Museum gallery.
Responsibilities & Activities:
- Welcomes Museum visitors into the gallery in a fun and engaging manner to enhance personal experience and develop rapport with guests
- Provides orientation of gallery
- Offers general information regarding the Museum and history of Estes Park
- Aids visitors in interactive elements
- Regularly visits gallery and exhibits to check functionality and new additions
- Conducts staff-created visitor surveys, if interested
- Optionally, assists the Museum staff with special projects as interests/abilities align
