Estes Park Planning Commission:  Land Use 

The Estes Park Planning Commission is a five-member Town commission that reviews development proposals and subdivision proposals within the Estes Park Town Limits. All Commissioners must reside within the Town limits for the duration of their term. The Town Board provides a Liaison to attend meetings and share pertinent information with the Board.

This Commission meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the Board Room of Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue, Estes Park. The public is encouraged to participate. Study sessions, which are open to the public, are held at the Town Hall prior to some Planning Commission meetings. Public comment is not heard at study sessions. The starting time of the study session varies, depending on the length of the agenda.

Estes Park Board of Adjustment:  Variance Requests

The Estes Park Board of Adjustment is a three-member Town board that reviews and has final decision-making authority over variance requests within Estes Park. The governing document is the Estes Park Development Code.  All Members must reside within the Town limits for the duration of their term.

The Estes Park Board of Adjustment meets as needed on the first Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Room of Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue, Estes Park.

Estes Park Board of Appeals:  Building Decisions

Consisting of design professionals and contractors, the Estes Park Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals to decisions made by the Chief Building Official. The Board makes recommendations to the Town Board of Trustees concerning the application of the International Building Codes and Local Amendments. The Estes Park Board of Appeals consists of five members who serve staggered five-year terms. All members are appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park and must reside in the Estes Valley for the duration of their term. This is a technical board. Members must have construction experience as described in the Board of Appeals Roles & Responsibilities.

The Board does not have regularly scheduled meetings but meets as needed.

When vacancies in boards and commissions occur, a notice is published in the local newspaper. Town appointments are made by the Estes Park Board of Trustees, following an application and interview process. County appointments are made by the Larimer County Board of Commissioners.
