The city contracts its building division services through SAFEbuilt.
Since 1992, SAFEbuilt has provided full-service building department programs, building code plan reviews, complete project support, building code inspections and code enforcement for cities, towns, counties and other public agencies. As of today, they work with more than 250 public communities.
The Building Division ensures compliance with adopted building codes through plan review and inspection, coordinates with affected agencies (utility providers, sanitation districts, health department, etc.), and promotes public safety in the built environment by administering and enforcing adopted codes.
Ensuring building safety requires the active participation of property owners, tenants, construction industry experts, and building safety and fire prevention officials.
The office is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located on the second floor of Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue, Room 230.
