Community Drive Trail Construction

The extension of a trail along the east side of Community Drive between Manford Avenue and N St. Vrain Avenue (US 36) is planned for construction in spring of 2026. This trail will provide a safe connection between the school, the community center, and Stanley Park. A 10 foot wide concrete trail starting at the intersection of Manford Avenue and Community Drive will parallel Community Drive heading north until the dog park parking lot, where it will veer east and connect to the existing trail behind the gun range building. This project will be completed by the Estes Park Streets & Stormwater staff, and is the result of the voter approved 1A sales tax for trails expansion.

Extensive communication and coordination with the Estes Valley Recreation and Parks District and the Estes Park School District was completed for this project in 2025 in preparation for a grant award to construct the trail through the Safe Routes To School program. Unfortunately, that grant was not awarded for this project, but the need for the trail connection is a vital improvement for the community and was prioritized in the Town's budget for 2026 projects.
