The Estes Park Police Department Records Unit provides records to the public, including offense and accident reports, criminal history records, address verifications and more.

Making a Records Request

To obtain a copy of a police report or other record, visit the Estes Park Police Department in person (located at 170 MacGregor Ave) or complete a Records Request form. Be prepared to provide the following information, if available:

Type of Request (Motor Vehicle Accident, Police Report, Dispatch Recording, etc.) Your Contact Information  Report Number Incident Date Incident Location Person(s) involved in incident.


Records requests can be submitted in person at Estest Park Police Department, located at 170 MacGregor Ave. or mailed to the following address:

  • Most reports are available to the public within 72 hours of the request, depending upon the status of the case. Some reports are not eligible for release per state statute or aren't releasable until approved by the investigations unit.
  • If mailing a records request, be sure to include the following:
    • records request form
    • payment for requested report (See Fee Schedule)
    • a self-addressed, postage-paid return envelope (to send back the requested report).

Once the form is completed and payment is received, Estes Park Police Department can begin to process the request. Make checks payable to Town of Estes Park.

Online Crash Report

Online crash reports, or counter reports, can be filed through the Colorado State Patrol website. If you are unsure if your crash is eligible for an online report, see the terms listed on State Patrol's website or contact the law enforcement agency where your crash happened.

To obtain a copy of a Crash Report, go to LexisNexis where reports are available online. If you are having issues purchasing a crash report, LexisNexis support is available by phone at 1-866-215-2771.

Police Report Copies $10.00 - 10 pages or less (25 cents per page after 10 pages)
Motor Vehicle Crash Reports $10.00 - 10 pages or less (25 cents per page after 10 pages)
Local Background Checks $10.00 per hour
Dispatch Recordings $25.00 per CD/Flash Drive
Photos only                    $7.00 per DVD/Flash Drive
Video Requests $10.00 per DVD/Flash Drive
