Making a Records Request

Making a Records Request

To obtain a copy of a police report or other record, visit the Estes Park Police Department, located at 170 MacGregor Ave, or complete an online Records Request form. Be prepared to provide the following information, if available:

  • Type of Request (Motor Vehicle Accident, Police Report, Dispatch Recording, etc.)
  • Your Contact Information
  • Report Number
  • Incident Date
  • Incident Location
  • Person(s) involved.

Some reports are not eligible for release per state statute or are not releasable until approved by the investigations unit.

Once the form is completed and payment is received, Estes Park Police Department can begin to process the request. See the fee schedule below. Make checks payable to Town of Estes Park or pay with credit or debit card using the online portal

Online Crash Report

For crashes that occur on private property, a counter report can be filed through the Colorado State Patrol website. If you are unsure if your crash is eligible for an online report, see the terms listed on State Patrol's website or contact the law enforcement agency where your crash happened.

Fee Schedule

A non-refundable research fee of $10.00 is required before research of the record request will begin. After the initial payment of $10.00, you will be notified of any remaining balance required by the Records Department.

Any report that exceeds 10 pages will cost an additional $0.25 per page. Body-camera video footage, Dispatch Audio/911, and Photos are $35 per hour of retrieval, redaction, and review. Payment is required in advance.

Once a Records Request Form is completed and payment is received, Estes Park Police Department can begin to process the request.

Payments for records requests can be made online, via mail (Attn: EPPD Records, PO Box 1287, Estes Park, CO 80517) or in person at Estes Park Police Department, located at 170 MacGregor Ave. Make checks payable to Town of Estes Park. Pay with credit or debit card using the online portal
